When rent comes in, and what it's figured on
Two emails each week - when renters' payments start, and when the money lands - and how each renter's share is counted.
For renters on automatic rent, Hotseat pulls the week's rent or shop share from their bank on Monday morning, for the week before. You get two emails:
- Monday morning - the payments have started: each renter and amount.
- The day it lands - the money has reached your Stripe account, usually 3-4 business days later. Stripe sends it on to your bank on its normal payout schedule.
What it's figured on: a percentage of gross service sales - tips are all theirs, and tax and retail aren't part of it (retail has its own cut). A service counts in the week it was done: the day it was checked out, or the day it was marked done if it never went through the till. A refund takes off only what was refunded.
A visit marked done but never checked out still counts - as if the renter was paid outside Hotseat. If one wasn't paid, open it and check it out.
If a week comes up short after the fact, it shows under Salon Settings → Automatic rent as a catch-up, and one tap collects it. Renters who aren't on automatic rent pay you directly; turn it on for them in the same place.
